Seven Blackheath & Bromley Harriers Selected for England Athletics Youth Talent Programme

Congratulations to Alyssa Firla, Gracelyn Kendeck, Jed Starvis, Madeleine Dodd, Nehemiah Dick, Ryen Rennie, and Qi-Chi Ukpai, along with their dedicated club coaches Roy Dickens, Mike Reeves, John Wakeman, and Herbie Kuenstlinger, on their selection for this prestigious programme. This achievement is a testament to the athletes’ dedication and the coaches’ commitment to supporting their development.

They join five BBHAC athletes from the 2023-2024 cohort—Eliza Nicholson, Daisy Snell, Indiana Marshall, James Lawson, and Sienna Kidd—already on the programme, further demonstrating our club’s strength in nurturing young talent.

The Youth Talent Programme (YTP) represents the first step on England Athletics’ Talent Pathway, designed to meet the needs of talented English athletes and para-athletes aged 16 to 18 and their coaches.

The weekend of October 26-27 marked the first training camp for the new cohort, held in Loughborough and Birmingham. With favorable weather, intense training sessions, insightful classroom learning, and ample opportunities for athletes and coaches to socialize, share knowledge, and build lasting friendships, the weekend was a memorable experience for all.

Everyone is looking forward to the December camp!

Ian Firla
