22 July 2026 – Norman Park. A good turnout of 25 runners took part in the final race of the 2026 Parris Handicap series, in which club members face added competition from fellow runners at PWR and BVAC.
Fastest male and female runners on the night, and not for the first time in the series, were father and daughter Leon and Evie De Bruyn.
But first over the line at the end of the race was 2nd starter Karen Samuel, who was closely followed by Lewis Fishlock and Ian Scott taking 2nd and 3rd. Lewis and Ian went into the race level at the top of the overall standings, with Lewis holding on to his 2 minute 15 second ‘headstart’ over Ian on the night by just 6 seconds to win the Series – a fittingly tight finish and a great end to the series.
