The English Schools Championships are often regarded as the pinnacle of any young athletes’ track and field career. For many the event is held with higher regard than their age group national championships due to the team spirit and atmosphere experienced at the competition.
This years championships take place this Friday and Saturday (12th – 13th July 2024) with athletes from the club representing various counties across the country. For those unfamiliar with the event, each county is able to take a team of 70 eligible athletes to compete across junior, intermediate and senior age groups. Kent is an especially competitive county so being a Kent club year on year our athletes battle to earn a very limited place.
This year 21 of our club athletes made it onto the Kent team!

We were due to see Daisy Snell in the Senior Girls but she has an exciting opportunity in the U18 Europeans instead! More to come on that later!
First claim athletes expected to be attending from other counties include Abraham Sharif, Eliot Ferguson, George Henderson, Jack N’Douba, Jodie Self, Oliver Driscoll, Piers Spencer-Simms, Ryen Rennie, and Sienna Kidd.
Good luck to everyone involved and apologies to those who we haven’t identified, as athletes are entered via their school county it can make picking out our club athletes more difficult.
