The English Schools athletes had a fantastic time up in Birmingham and we saw plenty of competitive action on the track and in the field! We had a total of 7 medallists across all county areas with 2 being English Schools Champions! Three of our U17 athletes successfully earnt a place on the England team, and an England vest, for the Schools International Athletic Board (SIAB) competition in Wales! Strong performances in the jumps saw Elsa Pawson (Pole Vault), Qi-Chi Ukpai (Triple Jump) and Josh Dako (Long Jump) all qualifying to spend the following weekend in Carmarthen, Wales. Sadly Josh was unable to accept his place due to prior commitments.

At SIAB (Saturday 20th July) Elsa went on to place 4th in the Pole Vault and Qi-Chi earned a silver medal in the triple jump despite the poor weather! A huge congratulations to Qi-Chi on both her medal and captaincy as she was chosen as co-captain of the England team!
