All eyes are on Manchester ahead of this years UKA British Championships!
We have a number of athletes across the various disciplines competing and setting their sights on the podium.
On Saturday, the 400m hurdles heats will mark the start of the event with 6 competitiors from the club! Zoe Austridge, Alexandra Hill and Sophie Ellis will compete in the womens event, followed by Luke Dronfield, Bailey Stickings and George Seery.
Kickstarting the field will be the women’s Javelin, featuring Bekah Walton and 6 time world champion, Hollie Arnold. Our other expected Saturday field eventers include Dillon Claydon (Discus) and Shanara Hibbert (Triple Jump).
Also taking to the track we have an exciting line up including Aaliyah Brown, Jennifer Eduwu, Saskia King and Darcey Kuypers in the women’s 100m with Kieran Gowan-Wade and Jeriel Quainoo in the mens. Anastasia Davies is listed for the 100m hurdles.
Angus Harrington and Harry Fisher have accepted entry to the mens 800m. The 400m expects to see Dan Putnum and Sam Reardon as well as some faces from across the pond in the recently returned Ethan Brown and Holly Mpassy.
Also coming over and off the back of the NCAA Yasmin Austridge has accepted her place in the 3000m steeplechase.
On Sunday we hope to see Aryan Padaruth in the first field event of day 2, the men’s Javelin. The remaining field should include Tom Parker (Hammer Throw), Nana Gyedu (Shot Put), Cleo Agyepong (Shot Put), Divine Oladipo (Shot Put and Discus) and Zara Obamakinwa (Discus).
Sunday’s track races will start with the men’s 110m hurdles and see Rico Cottell and Daniel Goriola taking to the start lines.
Darcey Kuypers will return for day 2, this time in the 200m, alongside Faith Akinbileje and Dina Asher-Smith. While Adam Gemili and Jeriel Quainoo will race im the men’s 200m
Any of our athletes who make the 400m finals will also be expected again towards the end of our second day!
