13 May 2026 – Dark skies, a temperature more appropriate for February than May greeted the 23 runners competing in Race 1 of the four events in the 2026 summer Parris Handicap series. A heavy shower shortly after the start no doubt made some of them (and a few marshals) question their decision to toe the line but by the end everyone was smiling, with strong finishes aplenty.
Olivia Senbanjo of Petts Wood Runners started first and was not caught. This achievement reflected Olivia’s continuation of her impressive track record from last year of running a course PB every time she has competed. Olivia was followed home by Ian Scott and Lewis Fishlock.
Fastest male and female runners on the night were Leon and Evie De Bruyn in 17.06 and 19.39 respectively. The next event in the series will be on Wednesday 10 June.
