Paris 2024 – Olympic Success for BBHAC

The 2024 Olympics were a success for both Team GB and Blackheath and Bromley Harriers AC! In the build up to the games we were all excited to see what Dina could do but we hadn’t anticipated that we would also be cheering on another athlete!

Just days before the athletics began we sadly saw the withdrawal of one of the athletes from the 4×400 relay squad. This set of unfortunate circumstances saw an opportunity for Sam Reardon (coached by Nigel Stickings) to attend the games instead.

Reardon returns home with two bronze medals for his efforts in the mixed 4x400m and men’s 4x400m relays – an amazing achievement for his first Olympics. Asher-Smith competed in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m, returning home with a silver medal from the 4x100m – meaning she has medalled at all three Olympic Games she has been to. We also saw former Harrier Phil Sesemann complete the Marathon! Adam Gemili was in attendance covering the action with TalkSport.

Whilst the Olympic Games have finished and we look forward to welcoming the athletes home the excitement doesn’t end there! The attention now turns to Hollie Arnold who will be competing in the F46 Javelin at the Paralympic Games on Friday 6th September.

We are incredibly proud of all our athletes, it is an incredible achievement to even make it to such a high level event! Congratulations to Dina and Sam and good luck Hollie!
